The 60th edition of São Paulo Fashion Week , the largest fashion event in Latin America, took place between October 14th and 20th and featured 38 runway shows, 7 days of events, and exclusive launches from Brazilian entities.
Among the main brands to showcase on the runway, Santa Resistência, created and directed by Monica Sampaio, was present representing the ancestry of Black women. Through pieces laden with history and meaning, Sampaio led a show full of references and beauty, continuing with her purpose of bringing representation to SPFW.
This year, the brand innovated by choosing the relationship between women and the sea as its theme. The "Waters of Self: When a Woman Wears the Sea" show featured pieces made from fishing line and scales, as well as colors like blue, peach, green, and gold.
The collection, designed by artisans Sillas Filgueira and Gefferson Vilanova from the Farol de Cabedelo Association, was positively received and represented their dedication to fashion and the history that inspires it.
Therefore, Scarf Me, in partnership with Santa Resistência, is exclusively launching the Águas de Si scarves, to expand the narrative and visibility through clothing that carries in its colors and fabrics memories that should not be erased with time.

The show began with a beautiful dance performance, where the artist's movements reflected the fluidity of the ocean's waters. The sounds of the ocean flowing, combined with beautiful words praising Bahia, set the tone for the collection.
The models, parading and displaying on their bodies pieces of the ancestral history of African regions, showcased the power, importance, and complexity of Black women, as well as their strong presence around the globe.
The impeccable work of each of the designers and artisans was delightfully appreciated by the audience. The color palette and materials of each piece combined perfectly, transforming the show into an event that was simultaneously enjoyable, educational, and encouraging.
Finally, the key figures behind the brand, especially Monica Sampaio, appeared to celebrate another year of presence at São Paulo Fashion Week, paving the way for future editions, which will undoubtedly maintain the impeccable level present since their first participation.

In addition to the inspiration that arose from women's relationship with water in different spheres, Mônica Sampaio was also inspired by Adriana Varejão, who, according to her, is a perfect example of these ocean-women.
It all began with Sampaio's attentive and observant gaze, which found in the stories of mermaids, Iemanjá, and Iara the strength and fascination of women. These three figures, so remembered and immortalized by time, have something in common: water as part of their narratives.
Inspiration led to the idea, initiating the creation process, which soon became a reality. And the collection was an absolute success.

Scarf Me found a rich source of inspiration in the storyline of the Santa Resistência collection; the Scarf Me x Santa Resistência scarves feature artwork inspired by the fashion show and the perspectives of everyone involved in this story. See below:
With a bold print, the Águas de Si scarf evokes the sea, fish, and the blue of the ocean. This artwork represents the waters and the stories that emerge from them; the print design is rich and detailed, aiming to bring unique characteristics to this collaboration.

The "Invitation to the Coelacanth" design, in addition to representing the sea, also depicts ocean-women. This artwork is a direct reference to the collection presented at SPFW (São Paulo Fashion Week), featuring an exclusive print full of nuances. The piece possesses magnificent beauty, where Scarf Me's printing technology was successfully put to the test.

Finally, the Santa Resistência twilly draws inspiration from elements of the sea, such as blue, fish, shells, seahorses, and especially ocean-women. The mosaic-style art conveys elegance and serenity, dressing the self-confident and subtle woman for everyday life.
