Combining art and social transformation, the TOYMANIFESTO project, conceived in 2013 by multimedia artist Juliana Helcer, has already raised funds for several indigenous communities in Brazil. Among them, the most important Manifesto ever produced was the action that brought access to drinking water to the residents of the Fulni-ô indigenous village in the interior of Pernambuco, who were suffering from drought.
The artist creates each TOYART based on conversations with native peoples, and says that her inspiration comes from the cultural, spiritual and environmental power that makes up our Brazilian identity. The "Manifestos" are actions through which part of the sales of the works is directed to indigenous and environmental causes.
